Where is Lord Howe Island?

Lord Howe Island is located approximately 700 km north-east of Sydney. It home to the worlds most southern coral reef. By account, the island is home to several hundred species of fish, dozens types of coral, and over a hundred species of birds.

History and Readings

There is a very interesting history to the island. From the readings discovered here are a few that stand out.

• S.J. Paramonov wrote a three part paper. The title is
  Lord Howe Island, a Riddle of the Pacific
  The very first sentence reads as follows: "THE RIDDLE of the origin and natural history of Lord Howe Island is not yet solved and the progress of our knowledge only shows us that the problem is more complicated than we can suppose."
